Domin Join A Trailblazing Team To Develop Novel Braking Technology For Aerospace
Domin’s world-leading x-by-wire solutions enable the rapid transition to high performing, sustainable systems in a digital world. As transportation is electrified, actuation systems need to follow suit. For aerospace actuation and braking, traditional centralised systems are too heavy and existing electro-magnetic solutions are not suitable to support the advancement in technology for aerospace. Domin has won part of a £300k NATEP funded grant to develop the solution to this problem.
Powerful, Scalable Braking Technology for Aerospace
Building upon their existing leading direct drive servo valve experience, Domin will develop an integrated, additive manufactured, electrically powered brake powerpack with significantly higher bandwidth and lower weight than competing electro-mechanical actuators or hydraulic systems.

Weight Savings Without Compromise
Apex Additive Technologies and Domin will work together to develop novel adaptive additive manufacturing methods to enable in-build material property optimisation. This will enable significant build time, cost and mass improvements to be achieved. This synergetic partnership aims to develop truly disruptive technology for aerospace that is better on all criteria compared to the current top of the range products in the aerospace supply chain to rapidly enable a More-Electric Aircraft architecture transition.
